Men’s talk – A look through the keyhole …

December 12, 2018 by kj Leave a Comment

… or should we rather call it “eavesdropping through the keyhole”. However, what woman would not like to listen to her sweetheart coolly talking with his best buddies? What are they talking about anyway? Is he talking about me? Is it just about dirty topics? The answers to these questions will surprise many women.

“So? Everything alright? How’s it going? “

An estimated 95% of all conversations between men start with these three questions. However, what really rebuts the prevailing belief of many women is the fact that the conversation is NOT about sex or other issues that are seemingly important. No bed stories, no hazardous details about a relationship, and absolutely nothing about the dream body of Steve’s new girlfriend.

The first answer to the three questions is generally short: “All good!”. Only then the topic # 1 is mentioned: And – disappointingly – men talk first of all about work. About a crappy boss. The latest job, what mishaps occurred to a colleague, and, and, and … until they continue to topic # 2.

Technology and machines – From cordless screwdrivers to monster trucks

Still, there’s no word about the ladies. If you surf the WWW to find out what men (especially heterosexual men) are generally talking about, you’ll soon discover that gadgets, technology and heavy machinery are on the very top of the list of topics. Computers, chainsaws, cars and/or the new surround system for the TV … whatever! What for many women would certainly be a boring conversation, is an area the “boys” can talk about for hours.

They will discuss the new models of different car manufacturer, Peter’s new mountain bike, or philosophize about their last shopping spree across the hardware store. And only then they’ll move on to the topics 3 to 5 …

Hobbies, police & politics … seriously?

Incredible, but true. The next topic is … hobbies or travel or something similar. It’s about the latest tennis match, about football or about a visit to a club during their most recent business trip to Frankfurt in Germany. Even here, there is hardly, if any, talk about women, not even to mention the encounter with a hot escort girl. It’s more about the DJ set, the cool sound system and the overpriced drinks.

And then they will talk about the “boys in blue”. Topic # 4: the police. The report in the newspaper about police violence, the traffic ticket or the fact that the police in Dubai has a Bugatti in their vehicle fleet (which takes us back to topic # 2).

Topic # 5 – politics. What is already boring on television, among men may sometimes stir quite heated discussions. If during the conversation, some politician’s “unsexyness” is discussed, maybe the gentlemen will finally touch the topic that really interests them: women.

Personal details are not the main topic …

Men will be men, and basically, they are all pretty similar. Once they finally get to the topic “women”, there will usually be a few macho words. Then they could eventually shortly discuss the boredom of a long-term relationship, which however, and quite honestly, is also somehow comfortable. That in the past they were real stallions, that they would be much richer if their sweetheart would not invest all their money in clothes, and so on. Dirty secrets are certainly also a topic, but by far not as important as many women imagine. The play “Straight white men” by Young Jean Lee, which is on stage in New York, gives a very nice insight into a men’s discussion about # 6.

November 28, 2018 by kj Leave a Comment

If saving is not one of your strengths, don’t worry simply continue reading to discover a few note-worthy tips on how to save money quickly and easily. As contrary to popular belief, saving for your future doesn’t have to be a huge burden or a massive effort.

Tips on how to save money quickly:

1. Viscount attractions when they offer significant discounts and savings

As an example, you may find that there is one a day a week on which your local movie theater offers half-priced movie tickets or that your local bowling alley offers two for one game during off-peak times. So if you thought that you’d have to give up activities which you love in order to save money, think again.

2. If you’re parent take advantage of deals and packages which are aimed at families

If you’re a parent, also try to take advantage of as many family deals as possible. As an example, some attractions such as zoos offer special packages for families of four.

3. Start growing your favorite vegetables at home

If you have a sizeable garden, it’s well worth creating a vegetable patch in order to start growing some of your favorite vegetables. If you’re interested it’s also worth considering using raised flower beds in order to be able to plant your vegetables and tend to your veggie garden without having to crouch over, which may hurt your back.

If you grow more vegetables than your household can easily consume, why not swap some of your excess produce with your friends and family members. As an example, if you’ve grown surplus tomatoes and your friend’s family has grown excess cabbages, you may want to consider swapping a bag of your tomatoes for a bag of your friend’s cabbages.

4. Don’t go window shopping

Unless you plan to shop, avoid walking through malls or your favorite stores as you’re highly likely to make purchases that you don’t need and can’t budget for. Instead only visit stores when you have an intention to purchase a specific item. Unless of course, you’ve saved hard and have planned to treat yourself to a shopping spree.

5. Always give yourself a limit, when you go shopping

When you go shopping for an item such as a new pair of sneakers or a new phone, make sure to give yourself a reasonable budget. As you don’t want to end up paying double the price for an item then you budgeted for.

6. Visit discount stores and outlet centers in order to find branded products at a highly discounted price

One way to be able to purchase branded products at a reasonable price is to shop at discount stores and outlet centers which offer the same designer brands that you’re used to purchasing but at a significantly cheaper price point.

If you’re looking for gifts for friends and family members it’s also a great idea to visit a discount store or an outlet center in order to find gifts that your loved ones will cherish.

So if you are looking to save for your future, you can’t go wrong using the six tips listed above to help you save money quickly and easily!

When it comes time to choose new paint for your homes’ exterior, make sure to choose a paint type that has been specifically designed to stand up to the elements which your house is likely to face. As an example, if you live in a warm climate, you should choose a paint type that has been designed to withstand countless hours of heat exposure. While if you live in a region that snows you’ll want to choose a paint type that can protect your home from snow.

Remember that if you select the right paint for your city’s weather conditions, you won’t have to paint your house as regularly as a result. Which will save you valuable time and money.

2. Invest in purchasing a safe, fully adjustable ladder

As you’ll need to climb a ladder in order to clean your house’s drains, it’s well worth purchasing a safe, fully adjustable ladder. That boasts non slip rubber feet. As cheap ladders can be extremely dangerous to use.

3. When you climb ladders, make sure that you have a friend on hand to help you

Never make the mistake of climbing a ladder when you’re at home alone as if you experience a nasty fall, there may be no one to ring an ambulance or to help you. It’s also worth asking a friend to hold the base of your ladder when you climb up it. In order to further stabilize it.

4. Use a leaf blower to blow away any leaves that build up around your property

The easiest way to get rid of leaves which may have built up around your property is to use a handheld leaf blower to blow the leaves which you find off your property.

Alternatively, you can blow your leaves into a corner of your garden. So that you’ll be able to easily scoop the leaves which you’ve collected into a large rubbish bag, which you’ll then be able to get rid. If you don’t want to risk the same leaves being blown by the wind back into your property.

5. Make sure to sand down your home’s walls or exterior before painting your walls or exterior

Lifestyle tips that you’ll want to share with your loved ones:

1. Purchase fleece sheets for the cold, winter months

If you normally sleep on cotton or silk sheets during winter, it’s well worth experimenting with trying out fleece based sheets, during the coldest months of the year. As if you sleep between two fleece sheets you’ll be able to sleep in comfort, without needing an electric blanket or a hot water bottle.

2. In summer switch out your sheets for silk sheets

If you ever see silk sheets on sale, purchase a few sets as if you have a tendency to overheat on warm summer nights, you may find sleeping on silk sheets more comfortable than sleeping on traditional cotton or polyester sheets.

One of the best times to shop for luxurious silk sheets which boast a high thread count is winter, as there is a far lower demand for silk sheets in winter. So retailers will be more willing to cut their prices on silk sheets.

3. Pack a silk sleeping bag liner when you travel

Another tip that’s well worth utilizing, is always making sure to pack a silk sleeping bag liner when you travel. As if you don’t feel comfortable sleeping on hotel sheets which may not be clean or up to your standards, you’ll be able to sleep easy in a silk sleeping bag liner.
